Aretha’s is a fascinating place, with a fun menu, with an interesting location & history. The restaurant is in North Chattanooga, on the north shore of the Tennessee River, close to Coolidge Park and the Chattanooga Theatre Centre, with its burgeoning arts district. The flourishes–such as Tazo tea & rich chocolate milk made with Ghiradelli chocolate, apple butter on every table–are of ultimate tasteworthiness. The pancakes, biscuits with sausage gravy, and the waffles–all are delightful. Breakfast is served all day plus giant burritos and other specials for lunch and dinner. Great waffles. Shrimp and grits a must!
